  • The former Schriftsassenhof lies between 'Alter Weg', over which the medieval long-distance trade route from Leipzig across the Harz led through Stöckheim to the north, and 'Leipziger Straße', formerly 'Herrschaftlicher Weg', which after the middle of the 17th century was dead straight The Duke's private road from the Wolfenbüttel residence to the 'Weghaus' and on to Braunschweig.
The plant was built shortly after 1752 by redesign and extension of an older farm. Preserved are some outbuildings with gates (1), two half-timbered houses from 1651 and 1840 (2,3), the mansion of 1752-60 (4) and on Leipziger Straße the gate of 1846 (5) with flanking sandstone pillars, the stone wall in natural stone and the rococo pavilion of 1760 (6). The baroque park has not been preserved. To him still remember two ponds (7) whose strict form has been lost.
The Schriftsässigkeit gives a legal status below the entry in the Knight's Matrices. Through her, her owner is exempt from all goodwill and duties. Around 1700, a Cammerrat Müller acquired the literacy for his farm located elsewhere in Stöckheim. The new owner mentioned in a document from 1736, a Hofrat Meibom, had meanwhile relocated his writing yard to today's place. From Meibom the banker Friedrich Ludwig Metzner acquired the court in 1752; He is the builder of the aforementioned transformation of the entire system. Metzner died in 1756. His widow Catharina Dorothea, b. Schaffeldt, 1763 married the Commissionsrat and later Hofrat Johann Heinrich Lutterloh.
Plans and files for the construction of the plant have not been preserved. But based on stylistic comparisons can be demonstrated that Metzner has commissioned the master builder Martin Peltier de Belfort, since 1744 in the service of Duke Carl I., with the redesign of Schrawsassenhofes.
