Actually we wanted to spend the night at the waiting tower 5 km away. There we were greeted by a large bonfire and over 100 people with torches who were probably in the process of driving out the winter. 🙄

Here is our city tour in Flensburg. We especially like the historic harbor with the old sailing ships. Some dropouts live exclusively on their over 100 year old pot and travel the world with it.

The historic shipyard is also something special here. Even shipbuilders are trained in this craft here. Even… meer lezen

After a quiet night on the beach with a view, enjoyed a little beach walk with stiff breezes. The salt marshes were flooded properly, some beach paths would have required fishing trousers to the belly. 😀

Today was mainly driving. The day started with changing wheels on studded tires. That went smoothly and faster than expected.

Since it was raining and we had visited Göteborg extensively several times, we immediately got on our socks. We had planned almost 500 km as a daily stage. We drive the E45 (domestic… meer lezen

Last night we felt almost alone here. at 5.30 a.m. we heard caterpillars and wheel loaders working. It didn't bother us and we slept another lap.

At 7:00 a.m. we got up and found that not only the street, but huge parking lots had been cleared and suspected that we would get company soon. That's how it… meer lezen

After a very quiet night in our exclusive place, the sun woke us up. We are actually the only vehicle in this large, snow-cleared place. We are right on the frozen river and only 1 km from the city.

When the weather was perfect, we ran into the city. Östersund am Storsjön is the capital of the province of Jämtland. From previous visits in summer, when the weather was rather bad, we only remembered Östersund as moderately attractive.



But what we were allowed to experience today is hard to beat!

Yesterday we drove just behind Dorotea in Lapland. Every kilometer ride is a pleasure.

Little traffic, lots of nature.

With each hour we feel more and more confirmed that we are in the right place. 😊



Our overnight stay is a normal resting place on the

E 45. We usually avoid rest areas.

It's got warm. Today up to 6 degrees plus and even more in the sun. In addition, wonderful sunshine. We run in light clothing.

We drove to the first campsite so far. This relieves my data volume for the Internet, since W-Lahn exists. There is also a rustic sauna that we want to use today and then cool… meer lezen

Our today's destination is the Storforsen NP, which we had visited in the summer. The raging river must look bizarre in winter and that's how it was.

As a precaution, we had our spike chains in our backpack for the hiking shoes. That made sense. The narrow wooden paths were completely icy, but easy to… meer lezen

Shortly before Jokkmokk we crossed the Arctic Circle.

We used this for a short stop, to take the obligatory pictures and to slightly stretch the feet.



The polar center is closed, the official camper pitches are not passable, as are the stairs to the center.

We are in Jokkmokk, above the Arctic Circle.



The Arctic Circle runs geographically where, at the summer solstice, exactly 1 night, the sun does not go down completely. And as a counterpart, at the winter solstice, the sun does not rise for 1 day. The further north you go, the more days the spectacle lasts… meer lezen

Today we wanted to run to Storknabben. From there you have a great view of the snow-covered Jokkmokk.

Now you cannot just follow the hiking trails. You cannot go where there is no clearing. We should have just walked up the street. This was not cleared, but snowmobile tracks led upwards.

We are now in the Muddus NP. We were here in summer 2017 and did a wonderful hike with 32 km.

We won't get that far in the snow.



When we arrived we noticed that there is a lot of work going on here. We were alone at night.

Today it should be snowshoes to the Muddus Fallet, the big waterfall that looks icy in winter, just awesome.

Despite snowshoes, we made very difficult progress and followed a ski track. Since the snow was barely compressed by the touring skis, we sank very deep. For kiwi without snowshoes, it was also… meer lezen

After 2 days in Muddus NP we drove further north or north-west to Stora Sjöfallet NP.

Here we are surrounded by two thousand meter peaks, which we could still guess on the way there.

This mountain world continues to Norway and we there more bizarre and higher.

This morning we were woken up by the sun and even had a fine view.

Unfortunately, we spent too much time doing morning rituals before we got to the door. The weather had changed. It became increasingly overcast and stormy. We trudged on warmly wrapped. Soon it started to snow.

This morning we went back to Jokkmokk. We needed provisions and there are only shops in Jokkmokk. Are only 150 km. 😀🤣

We came out of the CP without snow chains and also the entire route, which was only on snow with ice.

Today we went to the Lapland Sami Museum. We were here in 2017 and it was right to go again.

This museum is the most comprehensive of its kind and highly recommended.
