The Rotenberg Forest is owned by 170 owners and is therefore one of the smallest structured forests in Austria. Numerous stations along the way, a forest room, a high moor and a natural arena made of Nagelfluhgestein are part of this themed trail, which can be walked on in small or large groups.
The first descent is into the Gschwendtobel, where a wooden bridge planned by Alois Negrelli in the 1830s spans the Subersach. After the ascent you reach Großdorf and then hike back down into the gorge. This time you cross it on a wire walkway, which until the 19th century was the only connection between Lingenau and Egg.
Several energy portals "Am Bach" (sun, wind, water) form the beginning of the hike. Later in the forest you come across the portals "Legendary" and "Tranquility".
