    The morning of the last stage of the day starts much more relaxed than in the past few days. You roll out of the valley following the Val S-charl. The valley becomes narrower and the rock walls on the left and right rise up to heights of more than 3,000 meters. When it rains heavily, mudslides in the gorge often block the road and sometimes cut S-charl off from the outside world for days. The traces of such events in the form of scree slopes cannot be overlooked. In this gorge you feel the power of nature - and the morning cold.In Scuol, I recommend you take a look around. Passing the campsite, you reach the center of the tranquil Engadin village over the venerable Gurlaina bridge. The alleys with ancient, typical Engadine houses are worth a visit. In Scuol there are several fountains which, in addition to normal spring water, also carry carbonated natural mineral water. You have to try that. The taste of the water is somewhat iron-rich, but very tasty. I always fill up my drinking reserves for the day here.The next 30 kilometers or so, until you cross the Inn near the Austrian border, are largely based on the Via Engiadina, a long-distance hiking trail that runs through the entire Lower Engadine on the sunny side of the valley.From Scuol you get to Sent via a steadily increasing panorama path. The view of the Inn valley and the Engadine Dolomites in the background is stunning. Sent and all the following villages are typical Engadine settlements that will take you back in time for a moment. Everything seems calm and grounded. The atmosphere is special here.From Sent, a high path leads you into Val Sinestra to a different kind of atmosphere - the old Kurhaus has the reputation of a haunted hotel. So don't stay long. If you hear a strange smell at the bridge, it is due to the arsenic-iron source that splashes into the stream there. Perhaps an indication of the origin of the ghost stories.On the left bank of the stream, a narrow path now leads out of the valley. At the beginning you will push or carry your bike several times on this, because rocks or scree make it difficult to ride. As soon as you have the passages behind you, a fantastic single trail follows up to the road to Ramosch.The course of the Via Engiadina leads you in a strongly wavy up and down from Vna to Tschlin and finally back to the bank of the Inn near Martina. The village of Tschlin is considered to be particularly original and worth seeing, as it was ignored by tourism for a long time. In the Hotel Macun you can try typical Engadine dishes and on the northern upper edge of the village near the small church, in the Girun Alpine brewery, you can also try beer brewed here. By the way, this is not the only brewery in Tschlin. In Martina, down in the valley, Biera Engiadinaisa, known far beyond the borders of the Engadine, is made exclusively from Swiss organic ingredients in the Bieraria Tschlin. With so much choice, just try it, spring water will drive your thirst away. Because after the descent with a wonderful panorama of the Inntal in the Lower Engadine, the striking Piz Lad (2,807 m) and the alpine meadows of Nauders am Schmalzkopf (2,724 m), the last ascent towards Schwarzsee is about 650 meters. Right across the border to Tyrol, the trails on the Kleinmutzkopf, which have been known since the first stage, await you at the end of the day and put a big grin on your face at the furious finale of your trip. Welcome back to Nauders!
