Kapelle St. Peter und Marcellinus

The Lohrsdorfer chapel counts according to the judgment of local historians to the "Urkirchen" of the imperial rule Landskron, yes to the first churches at the Ahr at all. As a country church, it had the layout of a basilica with a rectangular choir. It belongs under church law as a branch church to the parish Heimersheim and municipal law as the only place of worship to the city of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
1206 AD The German Hohenstaufen king Philip of Swabia built the imperial stronghold Landskron on the "mons Gimiche" (= Landskrone!) and assigned relatives of the "Gerichuin von Sinzig" with the guard of the imperial strongholds. For centuries, the village square was now the meeting place of the community, from whose chapel the bell all rang to the surrounded with nut trees village square and the community servant, the "Schellemann", announced the orders of the lord of the castle. Here also on rain-free days court was held.
But also political decisions were justified here with supernatural instructions:
On December 19, 1401 announced a Lohrsdorf, named Nicholas, a trustworthy man of high reputation, in front of the whole village community in Lohrsdorf Nussgarten, the present village square, that the late castle lord Ponzetta, née v. Landskron, in Green and Lohrsdorf before the mayors and jury had appeared, and the Frederick of Tomberg and Gerhard von Einberg and their sons and heirs have transferred all sovereign rights by virtue of their paternal and maternal inheritance. The village square in Lohrsdorf as the venue for the Lohrsdorf jury court alone had the historical significance to give such an immense transfer of power the necessary legal framework and public recognition.
In 1754 AD, one or more unknown donors erected the five-meter-high cross standing today on the front of the village square with the carved names of Saints Peter and Marcellinus, a suspension niche for the monstrance at the Corpus Christi procession and the memorial inscription: "God ALONE ( !) the honor ". This Lohrsdorfer cross, characterized by its double crossbeams as the Lorraine Cross, illuminates Lohrsdorf's membership in the middle empire of the German Emperor Lothar I for more than 900 years. It documents the function of the cross as the claim to power of the Lorraine, the Duke of Jülich or the Bishop of Trier.
