Tips
  • Orchard growing is a form of fruit-growing that uses environmentally-friendly farming methods to produce fruit on tall-stemmed tree forms. The trees are in contrast to low-stemmed plantation orchards often "scattered" in the landscape.
Mixed fruit trees in common is the regular use of both the high-stem fruit trees (top use) and the areas under the trees (under-use). The environmentally sound use of a stray fruit stock excludes the use of synthetic treatment agents such as pesticides and fertilizers.
The most common form of investment is the orchard, where high-stemmed fruit trees stand on meadows, pastures or mowing fields. Other scattered fruit stands are extensive plantings of high-stem fruit trees on arable or horticultural land, so-called orchards. Even high-trunked fruit avenues on field and driveways (street fruit), in home gardens or high-stemmed single trees in the open countryside belong to the orchards.
    amphibian ponds
Ponds and ponds are among the most biodiverse habitats in our homeland. There are almost all domestic amphibians. Over 2000 species of insects, snails and worms live in these ponds.
Only 200 years ago, there was a variety of ponds in our landscape. Untamed rivers regularly flooded the adjacent forests and meadows. After every heavy rainfall, hollows and depressions filled the undrawn landscape. In the vicinity of the village and the court there were countless man-made waters: mill and fish ponds were widespread. Washpans and fire ponds as well. Also Flachsrotten and Tränkekuhlen for the grazing cattle belonged to it. Today, however, between 50 and 90% of these ponds have disappeared from the individual counties. Thus, many endangered animal and plant species have lost their livelihood.
Frogs, toads and newts are particularly affected. They use the ponds as spawning grounds. The larvae of dragonflies and many other insects also develop in the water. Adult dragonflies hunt closely over the water surface. Even birds and mammals find food here and use the water as a potion.
