Marco Aurelio Fontana is one of the most famous cross-country and cyclocross racers in Italy. Born in a small town at the foot of the Italian Pre-Alps, he has a love of the mountains and racing in his blood. Aged 11, he competed in his first road race before discovering the off-road disciplines cyclocross and cross-country. As a racer, Marco loves the feeling of winning. However, even competitors have to take a break now and again. And, what better way to relax than on a single trail at 7,500 feet (2,300 m)?
When tasked with creating an E-MTB route that would be a manageable and inspiring challenge, it was clear the kind of path Marcos would take. Starting from Braies Lake, his adventure takes you through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park in the Dolomites. The region is known for its spectacular rugged peaks and steep mountains.
The route heads over demanding terrain which offers unrivaled views along uninterrupted single trails. You begin with a long climb up to almost 7,200 feet (2,200 m). Here, you will be grateful for the extra power from your e-bike, ensuring you have enough energy left to enjoy the exhilarating descent.

That's exactly why it was immediately clear where Marcos Tour was going to come from when he was given the task of creating an e-mountain bike course that would challenge riders, but not overwhelm them and inspire them to explore new worlds. The scene of his route is the Dolomites starting from Braies Lake in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. They are known for their rugged appearance and steep mountains, which are characteristic for this region.
The terrain through which this tour leads is demanding, but rewards you with fabulous views and long, uninterrupted single trails. As the route begins with a long climb to almost 2,200 metres, you will be grateful for the support of your e-bike. This will help you to cope with the challenge and there is still enough energy left to enjoy the descent.
Would you like a little foretaste? Then check out Marco's video, which he brought back from his tour:
De Pragser Wildsee is een van de mooiste en meest pittoreske meren in de Dolomieten. Marco Aurelio Fontana begint zijn tocht direct aan de oever van het meer. Geniet nog even van het geweldige uitzicht op het water - dan keer je de toeristische drukte de rug toe en neem je de lange, veeleisende route…
