Markus Pekoll is a real mountain biking legend. The former downhill pro has taken on the toughest downhill race tracks in the world and knows how to have fun on a mountain bike. As a downhill rider, he usually hops on a gondola. But what if there isn’t one? Then he just takes his e-mountain bike! With an e-bike, you can easily collect a lot of altitude difference and enjoy the downhill descent. On this route, Markus leads you through the beautiful mountainous region of Salzkammergut near his hometown Schladming in Austria.

Markus didn’t set himself an easy task: to choose a route that is just the right balance of effort, enjoyment and riding technique which is fun for all levels of biker, whether beginner or experienced. The resulting route offers a little bit of everything: physical effort on the ascent, spectacular mountain views and an interesting descent back to the lake, plus the extraordinary opportunity to cycle through a tunnel through the heart of the mountain. To top it all off, you can tuck into culinary delights at the inn at the top of the mountain.
