My Memorable Adventures 2023

As part of the komoot winter campaign I've created a collection of some of my favourite adventures from 2023... why not get involved and share your Most Memorable Adventures collection 🥾 ⛰️It's nice to look back and see what I have done this year... there have been a lot of highs and lows but these adventures were all high points for me (no pun intended) 🙏1. The year started off on a high with my trip to the Canary Islands and a scramble around Lanzarote with komoot colleagues2. I then had an amazing snowy walk in Langsett, this is the most snow I have seen up to my knees and no one around it was beautiful... that was until I got my van stuck in the car park and had to dig it out with some random utensil haha. 3. The Yugen Explore Right to Roam hike was a highlight for me... supporting a great cause. spreading the message and getting people together out in the hills 🙏 such a great day! 4. The Skomer Puffin trip with my mum was a once in a lifetime experience and I loved every minute 🥰 5. summer Solstice walk at Amroth was a treat... such a beautiful day and what a way to celebrate the longest day of summer! 6. Golden Road Presellis in Pembrokeshire and a wild camp under the stars. This was such a fun weekend and a route i've been wanting to do for ages, no people around and a lovely sunset and lots of bilberries! 7. St Davids Loop... this is my absolute fave loop to do. I used to live here so it brings back memories. We saw seals, ate pizza, had coffee and cake, walked along the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline with 2 friends and even went for a swim... what more could you want from a walk?! 8. French Alps Hut trip this was one of the best trips I've ever done! Massive thanks to Carola for planning it and being great company and Anne too. I really loved this day we started with breakfast at the hut then set off and went for coffee and cake at a cafe en route and then met Anne who brought an amazing quiche... the day was perfect and we made it up to the hut and played games drank wine and ate the evening meal. 9. Old Harry Rocks walk... I've never been to Dorset and I was here for the Komoot Nature Series at National Trust. After the event I stayed for a few days and had the most stunning weather. It was tropical 22 degrees in October I went swimming, walking had bbqs and just had the best time and a great way to end summer. 10. Deepdale Horseshoe... this was the most recent hike I did with Maria. Post Kendal we hung out and I stayed in the hut in the garden she was dog sitting and did a mid week adventure together. It was one of the best days ever so fresh and crisp but with amazing blue skies and views for miles across the Lakes when you reached the summit. We did have a fun scramble down and ended up walking back in the dark... more of these days next year please!! All round looking back a fun year with lots of variety. It felt like I didn't plan enough adventures due to some health problems I had in the first half of the year so missed out on doing bigger things however I managed to replace those weekends with smaller local trips and had a really nice time. It's nice to have a balance and next year I want to do more small local adventures and stop to appreciate where I live but also do a couple of big hikes and wild camps to embrace being healthy and free! 🌎
