The Ega Park was laid out in GDR times and was used several times for botanical events in the socialist countries. For the Federal Garden Show, large parts have been nicely prepared again. Before we left Erfurt today at noon, we hiked through the city center again to look at the many historical buildings. The city on the Gera still has a wealth of half-timbered houses, churches, lavishly decorated facades from different eras and beautiful squares. The second part of the Buga site was in no way inferior to the first part in Ega Park. The lush flower arrangements in the shadow of the citadel's high walls were even more impressive.

At the end of the Thuringia trip, a round through the Hainich National Park.

Particularly impressive on the route are the ancient and impressively wide Silberborn linden and the seemingly endless primeval beech forest, the ground of which is covered with wild garlic in spring and spreads a spicy scent… meer lezen

The Hainich National Park was founded on December 31, 1997 and is the only one in Thuringia.

Since June 25, 2011, the Hainich National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site of primeval beech forests and ancient beech forests in the Carpathian Mountains and other regions of Europe.

Great city, nice tour!

The long weekend was used for a trip to Thuringia and started with an evening stroll around the deserted Wartburg. The site is currently under construction to make everything look nice when the castle is reopened to the flow of visitors in summer.
