What an astonishing and beautiful mix of rides this was. 🤯🍒🦎🍬🎉
It truly feels like we ventured through various dimensions, atmospheres, and layers, unlocking the secrets of a hidden level of subconsciousness. This three-week trip was a vibrant and transformative journey that deeply resonated within our hearts and bodies. As well on bike as in our minds. Chapter 1 - Madrid to CratoWe started in Madrid on 4th of June with a little Flixbus hangover and a huge pile of excitement in our pockets. What could we expect from the road towards Crato, what from the festival that where so long exited about going? The ride was rocky, very hot, and tougher than expected. The area west of Madrid towards Portugal is a astonishing and pretty abandoned territory with a unexpected variety of farms ans wild animals 🐇🐍🦎🦅🦆🦜🦤The vast skies stretched above us, adorned with fluffy clouds that claimed two-thirds of our views. Little towns pass by here and there with not much to offer than cats hiding in the shade and SE VENDE signs decorating every second door step. In some places you need to be lucky to find small shops or a bar that will serve you with cool drinks. However, when we did find one, the experience was always delightful. It felt like walking through a saloon door in a pink dress, capturing the attention of mostly elderly men over 60.“dos cerveca, dos bocadillos y una botella de aqua grande por favor” was our spanish mantra that we keept saying. It worked out very well and the people where super nice. Chapter 2 - Waking Life Festival After five days we arrived chilled and fried on the festival ground close to Crato. The longed for destination. Words can not describe what we experienced in the following days and nights. A wonderful blurry combination of nature, people, food, music and transcendence moments that left us speechless with tears of joy in our eyes 🤯. @waking life - we will be back 💯Chapter 3 - After hour recoveryVery happy, inspired and a bit battered, we treated ourselves to a 3-day break in a small finca near “Santo Antonia Des Areias”. After the retreat we spent our days exploring the Extremadura region towards Salamanca. Great nature, relaxed people and finally mountains. In addition to Andalusia, a new super highlight on our Spain map.A all-in-all a festival/bike trip to tell your grandparents from 🫠
