Riding to Santiago: the last stages of Camino del Norte

When Belén and I got invited by @spain to ride the last stages of the Camino del Norte, a version of the famous pilgrimage to the Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela, we didn't think twice about it! Stretching from La Caridad at the seaside of Asturias, we cycled about 220km in 5 days to show you the last stages of this incredible route to Santiago!A few things to know about this route are:
- The Camino routes are very famous and well known in Spain and around the world, and are therefor a very important part of the Spanish tourism sector. This means that you'll be able to find accommodation and food infrastructure in many different forms along each Camino route. From Albergues (hostels) to hotels and restaurants, bars, cafes or supermarkets, every Camino route boasts lots of adventure-ready infrastructure!
- As the Camino del Norte is an official pilgrimage route, those hiking and biking it can request a booklet at a local tourist office in which one collects stamps at the above mentioned hotels, restaurants etc. If you manage to collect 2 stamps each day, and do a minimum distance of 200km by bike (or 100km by foot), you can request a certificate of completion upon your arrival in Santiago de Compostela!
- The Camino del Norte is the greenest of all Camino routes, and provides a lot of coastal scenery for those hiking or biking the whole route.
