King Alfred’s Way June 2021

Started in Salisbury and I finished in Winchester whilst the rest of my friends carried on to Salisbury. It was an insanely hot weekend, mostly in the 30s. Day 3 we took a detour to avoid the South Downs section as it was too hot and exposed and by that point we’d all been rather punished by the sun. I decided to cut the last day short as felt like my brain was cooking. Amazing route, I would love to cycle it again, maybe in shorter two day chunks. This version includes our detours to campsites.
