You're going to be on the trails for three or four days as you ride over 100 miles (170 kilometers) and conquer over 19,000 feet (6,000 meters) in elevation. Welcome to the Kitzbüheler Alpen Trail, or short: KAT-Bike. During the day, you'll be deep in the mountains. You'll be completely alone with nothing but your joy to keep you company. In the night, though, it's a different story: When the sun sets, you'll be back amongst the comforts of modern day civilization. Saunas, spas, fresh clothes for dinner — this is the only way to end a wonderful day in the saddle.
Depending on your time budget, you can choose to complete this ride in three or four daily stages. Being fairly short and lacking any major climbing, you could even tackle stage one on the day of your arrival. For the three stages from Hopfgarten to Brixen im Thale, from Brixen to Oberndorf in Tyrol and from Oberndorf to Fieberbrunn, you can choose between different track profiles. Depending on your taste, weather and fitness level, you can put together your perfect Tour.
Of course, you can do the KAT-Bike on your own, transport your luggage yourself and find the right accommodation. If you like to travel more comfortably, you can also book a complete package. With selected 3 or 4 star hotels on site, luggage transport from accommodation to accommodation and the guest card with included return journey by train to the starting point in Hopfgarten, you can enjoy full freedom on the trail and cozy comfort in the evening. On the KAT-Bike trail — you have the choice!

The intermediate version of stage 4 saves the uphill to the Harschbichl at the beginning of the tour and thus also the trail of the same name. In this way, you save about 800 meters in altitude and about 12 kilometers, so that your last leg of the Kitzbüheler Alpen Trails is a bit easier to master.

Even if the lightest variant of the third stage on the Kitzbüheler Alpen Trail is a little longer than the moderate, it goes much more relaxed, because it runs through the beautiful valleys of the Kitzbühel Alps and saves the two climbs on the Harschbichl and on the Gerstbergalm. Remain a little more…
