In dieser Collection fasse ich die Etappen meiner Themen-Wanderung zusammen. Es geht um den Fluss Isen, den ich von der Quelle bis hin zur Mündung begleite. Die Wanderung habe ich Anfang Februar begonnen, bis Ende April/Anfang Mai möchte ich bis zur Mündung gelangen. Danach ist mein großes Ziel die Gnadenkapelle in Altötting.Zur Isen:
Die Isen ist ein linker Zufluss des Inns im Südosten Oberbayerns mit einer Länge von rund 81Kilometern. Ihren Namen hat die Isen vom indogermanischen Wort eis, was „sich heftig und schnell bewegen“ bedeutet. Der Name hat sich auf das Kloster Isen und die Marktgemeinde Isen übertragen. Die Isen entspringt bei Lacken (Gemeinde Maitenbeth, Landkreis Mühldorf am Inn) und prägt die weitgehend naturbelassene Landschaft Altbayerns: das Isental.Im Landkreis Mühldorf ans Licht getreten, durchfließt das Isenwasser zunächst im Landkreis Erding die Gemeinden Isen, Lengdorf und Dorfen, um dann wieder durch den Landkreis Mühldorf zu fließen (Schwindegg, Ampfing, Mettenheim, Mühldorf am Inn und Erharting). Schließlich mündet sie im Landkreis Altötting (Gemeinde Winhöring) am nördlichen Innufer Neuöttings in den Inn.
