The community owes its church to the bailiff Johann Georg Voigt, who had them, as well as school and rectory, built at his own expense.
The externally simple building surprises with the lush Baroque design of the interior, which is influenced by the Italian, and with the pulpit altar with organ, which is unique in its time.
The tower becomes octagonal after the first floor. Formerly it was built in four tapered floors. Because of static problems and occurring large cracks in the tower, he had to be secured inside by abutments and has received after some changes then 1815/16 the present form.
Above the south portal, in a sandstone cartouche, are the words "UT SCOPI MEMORES" (Remember the Goal), which are meant to indicate the transition from the earthly to the heavenly life and a strong belief of the J.G. Voigt testify. The family crest can be seen above.
On the high barrel vault many beautiful stucco work and also five ceiling paintings can be seen. The main picture shows the Crucifixion, the four other, octagonal framed pictures: Creation, Expulsion from Paradise, Annunciation Mary and from the Christmas story the worship of Christ by the shepherds. Inside, over the exit doors, several verses from the 84th and 100th Psalms are written in large ovals.
The passage under the gallery leads into the tower room. In the grave vault at that time were 2 urns and 28 coffins, z.T. disintegrated. These were buried with the consent of the patronage family in a family grave in the churchyard. Some well-preserved jewelery caskets richly decorated with pewter ornaments can still be seen in the tower room. The builder got the final resting place in a tomb in front of the altar several years after his death, although he had already forbidden in the Fundatio to create tombs in the church. The inscription on the cover plate is unfortunately ceded. Right next to it is the tomb of his successor Carl Wilhelm Christiani. The bronze plaque with its coat of arms and Latin inscription, which was embedded in the cover plate, stands in the tower room.Source (kirche-schloss-ricklingen.de/kuenstlerische-gestaltung.html)
