With the arrival of the Reformation in Lindau in 1528, the three-storey church was profaned from rough quarry stones. After all, Saint Leonard is the patron saint of prisoners and dear cattle. Around 1900, the tower was given a new extension and until 1988, the former chapel served as a fire station. Since 1995, a development association cares for St. Leonhard, which is still in the possession of the Protestant community of St. Stephen - Christuskirche. On request, the chapel can be used for ecclesiastical and secular purposes.There is not much to see inside. The eye-catcher in the tower is a pillar of the Lindau glass artist Oliver Schaugg (born 1965) from the year 2001. The design of the glass column wants to honor the patron saint of the chapel, the saint Leonhard - with reference to our present time.
