Historical traces from Roman times, magnificent churches and monasteries in Pfaffenwinkel and the picturesque pre-alpine moorland and lake landscape of Upper Bavaria and the Eastern Allgäu make the Auerbergland@Venture Route an unforgettable experience. You cycle through tranquil little towns and enjoy the varied ups and downs through forests and meadows along mostly car-free or low-traffic cycle paths and side roads. The beautiful nature alternates with the cultural diversity that awaits you on this bike tour. In many interesting museums, exhibitions and sacred buildings you will learn everything about the past and the way of life of the people in the Auerbergland.

In this collection we present you the circuit of the Auerbergland@Venture-Route in three stages. We have chosen Schongau as the starting point. The historic town on the Lech is easily accessible by train and has good transport connections, so that you can start cycling straight away after an uncomplicated journey. You'll find plenty of nice accommodation in the stage towns — the whole area is a holiday paradise, so you'll be well prepared for the needs of exhausted cyclists. The three stages are all a bit hilly — but throughout the day they can also be mastered by occasional cyclists. On the way there are countless possibilities for small breaks where you can relax — from small rest areas with great views to exciting museums. A special highlight are the 19 information boards along the route. There are QR codes on them that you can scan with your smartphone and that will take you to a lot more information about the Auerbergland.
