Heidschnuckenweg

Today we started the continuation of the Heidschnuckenweg, the first half was last September. The tour today is calm, lots of sandy paths in fields, meadows and forests, many streams and also a view. A few pieces went along the road, but hardly any traffic. It's nice that the corona situation makes it possible again 😊

This stage runs mainly on sandy paths through fields and forests, the landscape is calm. The highlight is definitely the Wietzer Berg with its extensive heathland (of course not blooming now 😏), the view and the impressive Hermann Löns monument. This stage leads leisurely through the heathland, often on sandy paths. The highlights are the village of Schmarbeck with its courtyards crouched under ancient oaks and the open heathland around the juniper forest. Our 10th stage on the Heidschnuckenweg was almost exclusively on easy-to-walk sandy paths. The highlights are the beautiful, open heather areas along the way: on the Hausselberg with an impressive view to the north, on the Neuoher Heide and on the Schillohsberg. The eleventh stage once again has beautiful heather areas to offer, especially in the Misselhorn Heath and in the Tiefental. A highlight is the Angelbecksteich surrounded by heather. However, the beautiful corners are again connected with long, straight forest paths. These are more or less shaded 🌞.

Today we hiked the last stage of the Heidschnuckenweg. After long straights through the large forests of the Südheide, the settlement gradually came closer. There was no more heathland to admire today, but at least a couple of Heidschnucken on a fenced in meadow 🐏 ... these animals were really rare… meer lezen
